Hello! My name is Joshua Schreiner, and I recently graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, specializing in dietetics. My passion for sports and health has been a lifelong journey, but it wasn't until I was 21 that I discovered my true calling in nutrition. Initially, I pursued a major in social work at Portland State University, driven by a desire to help others without knowing the exact path to take.
Growing up, I faced numerous challenges that impacted my drive for education, and upon graduating high school, I doubted my ability to succeed in university. Despite these doubts, I persevered and earned my associate degree from community college. During my time at Portland State, I developed a deep interest in nutrition, immersing myself in research, books, videos, and exercise science. It soon became evident that social work was not my intended path.
Committing to a career in nutrition was one of the most daunting decisions I've ever made. Overcoming fear and self-doubt was a constant struggle, with questions like, "Did I make the right choice? Am I capable of passing these classes?" frequently crossing my mind. However, I am proud to say that I never gave up on myself. Through determination and resilience, I achieved what I once thought was impossible.
